Ashish,

Declining morality...

well...let's face it...we have always been *immoral*...with the exponential growth of the media...we have greater access to *incidents* that went unreported earlier...

Moreover, morality is quite subjective...what happens openly in the West...goes on behind closed doors in our country...

Sex is always on the minds of Indian men...the ones refusing this are hypocrites of the highest order...

I don’t understand why you have to criticise west for everything. As far as I can see, despite a lot more freedom and money they are more ethical and moralistic than Asian countries like Thailand and Korea. Even in India, visit and live in villages to see how joint families are creating incestuous relationships. The media hardly reports these crimes that have been going since ages. The crimes of passion in India and much of Asia and middle-east are mainly due to starvation of sex and frustration caused by living up to hypocritical standards. Instead of going by media reports, look around you. You will find that western educated Indians are more decent and honest in their relationships than people who hide their dirty minds behind the sweet talk of Indian values and traditions.

dear ashish,
this is a rather complex issue that has dogged mankind since its recorded consciousness.
I feel that it is less to do with east v/s west ,and more with the fact that glitz is easier to acquire than gold.
Our education system that does nothing to truly encourage rationalism, ethics and the moraless social structure where money is the driving factor are also to blame.
The subject requires much deeper analysis than is possible ,ie, the premise of freud alone'
thought provoking
